About

Welcome!

Hi! I'm Amanda, and I have the best job in the world! I get to care about my fellow humans, learn from them, and collaborate with them on how to best improve their quality of life. My approach combines person-centered therapy with neurobiological principles to help you understand how your brain and body work together to enable healing. I am committed to social justice, harm reduction, and creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can process trauma, manage life's challenges, and navigate transitions with support and compassion. My previous work in supportive housing and in education has expanded my understanding of navigating the complex systems that we all function within every day, so I am also prepared to support you with practical, real-world systems navigation and resource linkage. As a daughter of veterans who grew up in a military community, I also understand the impact of military service on service members, veterans, and their families. I have an advanced certification in military social work practice with a focus on post-traumatic stress disorder and moral injury. My work as an English teacher fostered a love of connecting through reading, discussion, and storytelling, so don't be surprised if I share a book with you or ask you to take some time to write out your thoughts. You can always say no, but you might surprise yourself if you give it a shot! Finally, as a trauma-informed yoga instructor, I have an interest in supporting my clients in developing a better understanding of the ways their bodies give and process information to best strengthen overall resilience. When I'm not at work, you can usually find me lounging on the couch with a great book, riding bikes with my family, or walking in nature.
